Venture Global and ConocoPhillips signed a 20-year liquefied natural gas supply agreement under which ConocoPhillips will purchase 1 million tonnes annually beginning in 2030. Venture Global shares climbed 3% in after-hours trading following the announcement. The deal expands Venture Global's customer base and ConocoPhillips' global LNG portfolio as QatarEnergy faces force majeure-related disruption and geopolitical pressures continue to affect the LNG market. Venture Global has more than 100 million tonnes per year of capacity in operation, construction or development. The agreement comes as the company faces lawsuits from about half a dozen international oil and gas companies over alleged violations of long-term supply contracts. Shell lost an arbitration case in August, while a court later ruled in favor of BP in a separate dispute.
