Hanwha Investment & Securities approved a capital-raising plan of up to 900 billion Korean won to support its application for Comprehensive Financial Investment Business Entity status. The plan combines a 500 billion won third-party allotment with up to 400 billion won in hybrid capital securities; if completed, equity capital could rise from approximately 2.3 trillion won at the end of June 2026 to as much as 3.2 trillion won. The fundraising is intended to strengthen capital adequacy after the acquisition of additional Dunamu shares, although analysts caution that hybrid securities may not fully count toward the qualification calculation. The move reflects a broader industry push toward 3 trillion won CFIBE status and ultimately 4 trillion won mega investment bank status, which enables short-term note issuance. Hanwha is also expanding its non-banking platform through an agreement to acquire 96.06% of Acuon Capital with Centroid Investment Partners.
