South Korea's outstanding derivative-linked securities and bonds reached 96.7 trillion won, approximately $71.1 billion, at the end of June, the highest level in three years. The Financial Supervisory Service said first-half 2026 issuance rose 26.2% year on year to 42.9 trillion won, while redemptions climbed 47.3% to 41.7 trillion won, as rallies in South Korean and global equity markets supported capital inflows. Issuance increased across equity-linked securities, other derivative-linked securities, equity-linked bonds and other derivative-linked bonds, with single-stock products driving much of the growth. The annualized return on products redeemed early or at maturity was 6.8% for derivative-linked securities and 3.6% for derivative-linked bonds.
