Velocity, formerly Drift, has opened claims and redemptions for DFX recovery tokens for users with verified losses from the April attack, in which roughly $295.4 million was taken. Eligible users receive one DFX, a Solana SPL token, for each USDT of verified losses. With about 3.11 million USDT in the Recovery Pool and a fixed supply of roughly 299.5 million DFX, the current redemption rate is about 0.0104 USDT per token, or approximately 1% of the verified loss. Drift Foundation said the pool will continue receiving protocol revenue, while Tether has committed up to 127.5 million USDT to support the restart and user compensation. Claims close on Jan. 1, 2028, after which unclaimed DFX will be burned.
