Shinhan Asset Management plans to list the SOL Global DRAM Semiconductor Plus ETF on the Korea Exchange’s main board on the 7th of this month, expanding its existing domestic-focused strategy into global memory and storage markets. The 10-holding fund will allocate about 90% of assets to the so-called memory seven — Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, Micron, SanDisk, Kioxia, Seagate and Western Digital — with the remaining 10% invested in equipment makers including Applied Materials, Lam Research and KLA. The portfolio covers HBM, DRAM, NAND flash, SSDs and HDDs linked to AI infrastructure and is designed for access through Korean tax-advantaged accounts, including pension accounts. The launch comes as South Korea’s ETF market fragments into narrower AI themes, including NAND, HBM, memory equipment, DRAM and U.S. CPU makers, alongside products targeting physical AI, agentic AI, robot components, printed circuit boards, foundry services and 800-volt direct-current power infrastructure. Micron’s strong quarterly results and guidance above market expectations have supported demand prospects for HBM, data-center memory and storage. Shinhan expects AI infrastructure investment and supply constraints to support medium- to long-term growth across the global memory industry.
