Sunrise Energy Metals plans to move its parent company to the United States through a newly incorporated Delaware entity and pursue a primary listing on Nasdaq. The new Sunrise Energy Metals, Inc. would acquire all existing Sunrise shares and become the group’s parent, with a secondary listing on the ASX following implementation of the scheme. The relocation aligns with a conditional commitment of up to $400 million from the U.S. Department of War for the Syerston Scandium Project in New South Wales. The project has its key permits and is targeting first production in the first half of 2028, with annual output planned at about 60 metric tons of scandium oxide. Scandium is a critical mineral that has gained attention for Western defense and technology sectors after China, the main producer, imposed export controls. Sunrise said the restructuring would not alter its business, assets, operations or projects, and that its directors and senior management are expected to remain in their current roles. The company’s shares were up 6.9% at A$23.060 earlier in the session.
