Kinetiq ended its kPoints program on Oct. 1, granting participants the right to buy 50 million KNTQ tokens at a fixed price of $0.26 rather than receive tokens for free. The 10-day claim window follows the distribution of 36.8 million kPoints and marks a shift from point-based rewards to a paid token sale. KNTQ fell 23% after the announcement, trading at $0.325 at 12:09 a.m. ET on Oct. 2, compared with $0.422 shortly before Kinetiq's Oct. 1 announcement. The token had fallen as low as roughly $0.281 before recovering some ground. The 50 million-token allocation equals 5% of KNTQ's maximum supply of 1 billion tokens and would raise about $13 million if fully claimed. Purchased tokens have no lockup or vesting, while unclaimed tokens will return to the Kinetiq Foundation for ecosystem development. Kinetiq is a Hyperliquid liquid-staking protocol whose wider token strategy includes proposed revenue-funded KNTQ buybacks directed to the Hyperliquid Assistance Fund.
