Mitsubishi Heavy Industries announced on the 2nd that it will invest approximately ¥100 billion, or about $633.7 million, to expand its shipbuilding capacity. The company plans to acquire an artificial island developed by Shimonoseki City in Yamaguchi Prefecture and use it as an industrial promotion site.
