Cloudflare has opened closed testing for its Monetization Gateway, a system that enables websites to charge AI agents for access on a usage basis. Fees can be assessed per request, query or token and are settled in USDC, a dollar-linked stablecoin (digital token designed to track the U.S. dollar), on Base, a blockchain network. Initial applications include AI inference, web search, market signals and PDF generation.
