InflaRx N.V. has been selected to present a late-breaking poster on izicopan at the American Society of Nephrology's Kidney Week 2026 in Denver from October 21 to 25. The October 22 presentation will cover izicopan, an oral small-molecule C5a receptor 1 antagonist, in kidney disease models. InflaRx is developing the drug for ANCA-associated vasculitis and other renal indications. The company says in vitro testing found no time-dependent inhibition of CYP3A4, an enzyme involved in metabolizing drugs including glucocorticoids, and that izicopan showed a favorable reactive-metabolite profile in human liver microsomes. First-in-human studies reported no safety signals of concern across single doses of 3 mg to 240 mg and multiple doses of 30 mg once daily to 90 mg twice daily for 14 days. Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic results showed at least 90% blockade of C5a-induced neutrophil activation over the dosing period. Topline Phase 2a data also showed no reported safety signals of concern, while studies in hidradenitis suppurativa and chronic spontaneous urticaria indicated reductions in disease symptoms and improved disease control. InflaRx also develops vilobelimab, an intravenous anti-C5a monoclonal antibody. The release includes forward-looking statements and cautions that actual results may differ because of risks and uncertainties.
