Taylor Devices, Inc. reported first-quarter fiscal 2027 sales of $7,300,239, down 26% from $9,918,350 a year earlier and described as a 44% revenue miss. Net earnings fell to $456,933 from $2,190,084, while earnings per share declined to $0.14 from $0.70. CEO Tim Sopko said a record FY26 year-end backlog of $52.8 million arrived largely in the fourth quarter, pushing related sales recognition into later periods and reducing FY27 first-quarter revenue. He also cited product sales mix and new product development efforts as additional pressures on margins. The company said Structural markets continue to face headwinds from higher interest rates and unfavorable foreign exchange rates, while Aerospace/Defense markets benefit from demand linked to world unrest. Order intake remained strong across all three product groups, lifting firm backlog to a company-record $55.2 million. Taylor Devices said it remains focused on growth strategies and continued investment in its team, research and development, and facilities.
