Fiserv brought its digital asset platform into production on October 1, using Bank of North Dakota’s U.S. dollar-backed Roughrider Coin as its first live application. More than 90 participating banks and credit unions can access the stablecoin through Fiserv’s Commercial Center system to transfer funds across North Dakota’s interbank network. VersaBank issues Roughrider Coin and manages minting, burning, custody and reserves, while Fireblocks provides digital asset infrastructure and tokenization services and transactions settle on Solana. Fiserv said the platform will also support stablecoin card issuance, cross-border payments, programmable commerce, treasury automation, tokenized deposits and U.S. dollar accounts for financial institutions worldwide.
