TCL Solar C2 back-contact modules become available across Europe

  • TCL SunPower Global launched TCL Solar C2 modules through authorized European distributors.
  • C2 L and L UPP modules reach 670 watts, 24.8% efficiency, and 85% bifaciality.
  • UK deliveries start this week, followed by wider European distribution in coming weeks.

TCL SunPower Global has made its TCL Solar C2 back-contact (rear-contact solar cell) module range available through authorized distributors across Europe. Initial deliveries will begin in the United Kingdom this week, with broader European distribution planned in the coming weeks. The range was unveiled in June at SNEC in Shanghai and Intersolar Europe in Munich. C2 S Black modules for residential and small commercial roofs offer up to 495 watts and 23.8% efficiency, while C2 L and C2 L UPP modules for large commercial projects and utility-scale solar provide up to 670 watts and 24.8% efficiency, with bifaciality (two-sided light capture) of up to 85% on the L variants. The modules use a seamless back-contact design with a fully active front surface and no front-mounted metal busbars, increasing usable power density by more than 5% compared with a conventional front-contact module of the same size. TCL SunPower Global also cites a temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C, annual degradation below 0.35%, and retention of about 88.85% of initial power after 30 years. Depending on the model, warranties include up to 25 years for the product and 30 years for performance. The company said the C2 platform reflects its technology strategy, supported by more than 1,600 back-contact cell patents, four decades of photovoltaic module manufacturing experience, and the July completion of its acquisition of DAS Solar's back-contact cell and module manufacturing businesses.
