Open USD (OUSD), a dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Bridge and governed by the Open Standard consortium, launched for business payments on September 30, 2026. It is available through Stripe, Mastercard via BVNK and Visa via its Stablecoin Platform, with Coinbase access scheduled for October 1 and listings on Coinbase, Kraken and Uniswap to follow. OUSD launched across Ethereum, Solana, Base and Tempo; the newer announcement cited $18 million in reserves, while separate Solana data showed approximately 18 million OUSD across 47 wallets by the end of launch day. Reserves are held at BlackRock, Lead Bank and Bank of New York Mellon. More than 200 companies support the consortium, while Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe and Visa each hold equal initial equity stakes and together committed more than $1 billion in seed liquidity. OUSD is designed to distribute most reserve yield to participating companies according to adoption and transaction volume, unlike the reserve-yield models described for USDT and USDC. European access remained limited because OUSD had not been notified as an e-money token under MiCA as of October 1, 2026.
