The number of ETH awaiting exit from staking (locking crypto to earn rewards) rose to 850,000 on Oct. 2, while the estimated waiting period reached 14.77 days. Both figures were the highest recorded in 2026, according to Jiang Zhuoer, founder of Lebit Mining Pool, in a post on X. Jiang said the increase suggests some long-term ETH holders believe the token price is high enough to sell and lock in profits.
