Hewlett Packard Enterprise shares are heading for a roughly 10% gain this week after the company’s investor day sparked a positive reaction from Wall Street. The server and networking equipment maker was the S&P 500’s biggest gainer this week, according to AlphaSpace data, reaching record highs on Wednesday and Thursday and tracking toward another record on Friday. The move builds on a 189% year-to-date advance, including an approximately 8% gain on Friday. Ahead of the event, HPE disclosed a $1.2 billion order from Vultr to deploy its Helios AI server racks, powered by AMD chips, at Vultr’s U.S. data centers. The contract is the first commercial deployment of HPE’s AMD Helios system and combines HPE compute, exascale liquid cooling and HPE Networking hardware in an integrated rack-scale platform. The deployment gives HPE a reference customer for model training and inferencing workloads and demonstrates how its servers, networking and cooling products can be sold as a single AI data center stack. HPE also raised its fiscal 2027 networking growth outlook to the high-teens to low-20% range and forecast annual Data Center Networking revenue growth in the low- to mid-50% range through fiscal 2029, with networking operating margins in the mid- to high-20% range. Demand for AI servers and high-performance networking infrastructure continues to exceed supply, Hewlett Packard Enterprise CFO Marie Myers said. Analysts at Evercore ISI, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Truist and UBS subsequently raised their price targets on the stock. Investors will be watching whether the Vultr deployment leads to additional rack-scale AI contracts, networking orders tied to AI systems and a larger disclosed Helios pipeline.
