Bitcoin briefly recovered above $85,000 on Oct. 4, reaching $85,038.80 and gaining 0.21% on the day, according to OKX market data cited by PANews. The move followed a volatile reversal from a rally that carried Bitcoin from about $86,000 to roughly $87,200-$87,240 after a softer-than-expected U.S. jobs report. Bitcoin subsequently fell below $84,000, triggering more than $570 million in crypto liquidations over 24 hours, including $186 million in one hour, with longs accounting for 99% of the hourly total. Bitcoin remained about 30% below its October 2025 peak above $126,000. Prediction markets assigned a 73% probability to Bitcoin touching $90,000 before 2027 but only 39% to $100,000, while Kalshi indicated an $86,240 year-end forecast and AI models projected $91,500 and $94,000.
