Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya broke months of relative silence on X with a brief "Yours truly" response to a question about who funds Shibarium’s hardening, updates and ongoing maintenance. The reply followed Ethereum Layer 2 network Blast’s announcement that it would wind down because operating costs exceeded revenue and it had no credible path to economic sustainability. Blast users have until Oct. 26 to withdraw assets through its interface. Dhairya’s response indicates that Shibarium, an Ethereum Layer 2 network, continues to receive support, but it does not identify the amount spent, the entities involved or the network’s long-term funding structure. Dhairya last posted on X on July 25, when he reacted to Shiba Inu’s price rise, while Shiba Inu lead ambassador Shytoshi Kusama last posted or interacted on X on May 13. Shibarium has continued receiving infrastructure updates, including resolution of a reorganization, migration to new RPC infrastructure, node peer rotation and refreshed connection details. Shibariumscan currently reports that 54% of the chain’s blocks are indexed.
