President Donald Trump’s MAGA Inc. super PAC and affiliated groups are deploying tens of millions of dollars across competitive Senate and House races as Republicans seek to retain control of Congress, with the Texas Senate contest between Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico at the center of the funding debate. MAGA Inc. reported $25 million in Texas spending in its latest filing and is expected to spend nearly $45 million on direct mail, television and digital advertising through Oct. 12, up from a previous $20 million commitment. The Senate Leadership Fund and its affiliated Texas PAC have spent more than $130 million, including a $60 million investment on Wednesday, while outside Republican groups are on track to spend more than $200 million in the state. Republicans are weighing whether further Texas spending could divert resources from Ohio, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Georgia and other competitive contests. MAGA Inc. held $415 million as of late August, and Trump has pledged to spend $400 million to $500 million in the midterms, while Republicans held a nearly $190 million overall spending advantage over Democrats, according to AdImpact.
