Robert Kiyosaki said holding Bitcoin, gold and silver is financial preparation for economic trouble, comparing the strategy with carrying insurance rather than predicting a crisis. In his latest post on X, the Rich Dad Poor Dad author described himself as a financial prepper and argued that people buy car insurance for protection if something goes wrong, not because they expect to crash. Kiyosaki also criticized government-issued money and said he prefers assets that authorities cannot print, a view he has extended to Bitcoin, Ethereum, gold and silver. Bitcoin's 21 million-coin supply limit supports the scarcity argument but does not guarantee that the asset will preserve purchasing power, because its price depends on demand and can fall. Kiyosaki has promoted Ethereum, rental apartments, gold, silver and U.S. oil wells, and has said he bought Bitcoin and Ethereum during periods of market weakness. His warnings have included rising debt, inflation, energy-related geopolitical tensions and weaknesses in traditional retirement systems, although his timing has changed, including when he said in June that he was not yet buying a Bitcoin and Ethereum dip.
