OpenWorld, Inc. completed its business combination with VerifyMe, Inc. on October 1, renamed the Nasdaq-listed company OpenWorld, Inc. and began trading under the ticker OPNW. Digital-assets veteran Matthew Shaw became chairman and chief executive officer, while former Honeywell International senior executive Russ McMeekin joined as group president. The combined company will continue VerifyMe’s temperature-sensitive product logistics and brand-protection business while developing infrastructure for real-world asset tokenization, which converts cash flows from physical assets and operating businesses into investable financial products recorded on blockchain networks. Through OpenWorld Enterprise, the company plans to combine financial structuring and blockchain infrastructure to develop, issue and distribute tokenized real-world assets for institutional investors. OpenWorld also intends to pursue a dual listing on Figure OPEN, a blockchain-based trading platform expected to launch by November 2026. The listing forms part of a wider push to bring tokenized operating assets into public markets as banks and fund managers seek such exposure. OpenWorld says it has advised on projects representing more than $66 billion in aggregate network value and supported more than 20 companies backed by a16z, Multicoin Capital, Dragonfly and Founders Fund. The Figure OPEN listing and any tokenization of OpenWorld’s equity remain forward-looking plans subject to regulatory and execution risk.
