An attacker drained 1,783 wstETH, valued at approximately $6 million, from a protocol on Base in what appeared to be an exploit targeting the Ethereum layer-2 network. PeckShield identified and flagged the unauthorized transfer, which involved wallet 0x0B5126…B034. wstETH is a liquid token representing staked Ether, allowing holders to retain a tradable asset while participating in staking. The incident adds to security breaches affecting decentralized-finance protocols across blockchain networks. Odaily previously reported the transaction and linked to a PeckShield Alert post on X.
