AbbVie and Genmab reported positive topline results from the Phase 3 EPCORE DLBCL-2 trial, with epcoritamab combined with R-CHOP significantly improving progression-free survival compared with R-CHOP alone in newly diagnosed patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and an International Prognostic Index (IPI) score of 2 to 5. The risk of disease progression or death fell 51% in both the overall IPI 2-5 population and the primary IPI 3-5 population. The companies described the study as the first late-stage trial of a bispecific antibody combination to show a significant progression-free-survival improvement in first-line DLBCL. The fixed-duration combination was generally well tolerated, but epcoritamab plus R-CHOP remains investigational and is not approved for newly diagnosed DLBCL. AbbVie shares closed 1.12% higher at $265.76 after the results, while Genmab shares had earlier risen about 11% in afternoon trading.
