U.S. stocks advanced on the 6th as easing Treasury yields, earnings expectations and artificial-intelligence investment supported a broad rally. The S&P 500 gained 44.98 points, or 0.6%, to a record close of 7,818.93, while the Nasdaq Composite added 122.48 points, or 0.4%, to 27,599.79, also a closing record. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 253.38 points, or 0.5%, to 51,521.28 for a fourth straight gain, while the Russell 2000 fell 0.6%. The rally continued despite the Federal Reserve's first interest-rate increase in three years and a monthslong war with Iran that pushed oil prices near $100 a barrel. More than 70 S&P 500 companies raised earnings expectations before reporting results, while AI-related companies led gains and Nvidia approached a $6 trillion market capitalization. Constellation Energy surged after agreeing to supply 890 megawatts of nuclear capacity to the PJM grid under a 20-year agreement with Google.
