BNY will expand cryptocurrency custody services to selected institutional clients in the European Union after The Bank of New York Mellon SA/NV, its European banking entity, was added to the European Securities and Markets Authority’s MiCA register earlier this year. The registration allows BNY to provide eligible EU clients with cryptocurrency custody, administration and transfer services under the Markets in Crypto-Assets framework. BNY held $62.6 trillion in assets under custody and administration at the end of June, underscoring the scale of its traditional asset-servicing business as it expands into regulated digital-asset infrastructure.
