Mastercard and BVNK launched the Global Money Platform on Oct. 15, 2026, giving banks, fintechs and businesses a single API to embed accounts that hold fiat currencies and stablecoins side by side. The modular service supports conversion, local bank payouts, stablecoin-linked cards and business treasury and settlement, with customers able to add capabilities over time. It connects to Mastercard Move for local-currency payments and allows users to spend stablecoin balances across Mastercard's merchant network. Mastercard said coverage is expected to exceed 40 currencies across more than 200 countries in 2027, while card issuing is available in more than 130 countries. Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Beem and Almond FinTech are among the first integrators. The launch is the first major integration of Mastercard and BVNK's capabilities since the acquisition closed in August 2026. Mastercard has previously announced 24/7 on-chain stablecoin settlement and supported SoFi's stablecoin settlement arrangement. The company said it plans to add support for agentic commerce and tokenized deposits.
