Deutsche Bank plans to launch cryptocurrency custody services for corporate and institutional clients in Germany within weeks, initially supporting bitcoin and ether. The lender aims to extend the service to Asian financial centers in 2027 and add stablecoin support later. Gerald Podobnik, co-head of Deutsche Bank's corporate banking division, said the initiative is part of the bank's strategy to capture digital-economy opportunities and achieve 8% compound annual growth in corporate banking by 2028. Deutsche Bank also plans tokenization offerings, including tokenized deposits and a platform for clients to issue blockchain-based securities such as digital bonds. Deutsche Bank Research estimates tokenized real-world assets could reach $7 trillion in volume by 2035.
