BitTorrent has completed its first reported BTT buyback and burn, sending 21,621,611,570,729.6 tokens worth about $7,600,907 to a black-hole address on October 16. The latest release says the repurchase used 100% of decentralized-business revenue from the third quarter, while earlier materials characterized the funding source as centralized-services revenue, leaving a discrepancy in the description of the program. BitTorrent announced the long-term mechanism on July 6 and says it will operate every natural quarter, with transaction details published on a dedicated website page around the middle of the first month of the following quarter. The project also released a new official white paper on October 17, defining a three-part architecture comprising the BitTorrent main network for peer-to-peer content transmission, BTTInferGrid for decentralized AI inference computing, and BTTC for cross-chain interoperability, Layer 2 scaling and settlement. BTT is positioned as the common economic medium for resource payments, network gas, node incentives, staking and governance. Market data cited in the release showed BTT up about 30.3% over the three months through October 15.
