JPMorgan has made JPM Coin available to institutional clients on Ethereum, extending its bank-issued deposit token to a public blockchain after a November 2025 launch on Coinbase’s Base network. The token represents U.S. dollar deposits held at JPMorgan and enables participating clients to transfer funds 24/7, with transactions settling in seconds rather than taking days through conventional banking infrastructure. Access remains restricted to eligible institutions. The bank selected Ethereum for its liquidity and institutional adoption. The move comes as financial firms explore blockchain settlement for payments and tokenized assets. JPMorgan said its Kinexys Blockchain Deposit Account network processes more than $7 billion in transactions daily, compared with about $12 trillion in daily volume across its broader payments business. The latest announcement revises earlier information in this topic that described the Ethereum expansion as still being prepared.
