Hanwha Investment & Securities has formed a strategic partnership with Chainlink to develop financial infrastructure for issuing, distributing and using real-world assets as collateral on blockchain networks. The Korean securities affiliate of Hanwha, a Fortune Global 500 company, will apply Chainlink's data standard and Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to its digital-asset platform. The data standard can bring in and verify off-chain information such as prices, interest rates and reserves, while CCIP enables blockchains to exchange assets and information through a common integration. A joint working group will study connections between institutional on-chain services and custody systems, financial-data verification, cross-chain interoperability, valuation and reserve checks, and standards for using tokenized RWAs as collateral. The companies also plan regulatory and technical standards aligned with South Korea's tokenized securities framework. Hanwha is in discussions with global asset managers and issuers and plans to distribute tokenized products to institutional investors and on-chain markets. South Korea is set to introduce its tokenized securities framework in February 2027. Ahn In-seong, vice president of Hanwha Investment & Securities' digital division, said Chainlink is a core partner for asset tokenization, global distribution and collateral use, with the firms aiming to connect domestic and overseas RWA markets.
