Coupang Logistics Service, a delivery provider under Coupang, will invest about 42 billion won ($31 million) to build an artificial intelligence-powered smart logistics center in Busan. CLS signed a memorandum of understanding with Busan Metropolitan City on Thursday at an investment promotion event for companies based outside the capital region. The center will occupy roughly 44,000 square meters across four of eight floors inside a logistics facility of about 100,000 square meters in Yongdang-dong, Nam-gu. It will combine fulfillment and delivery functions by positioning products customers are expected to order at nearby sites in advance, supporting faster shipping. Trial operations are targeted within the year, and the project is expected to create about 670 direct and indirect jobs. CLS has also expanded logistics infrastructure in Daegu, Jincheon, Chilgok, Gimhae and Jangseong.
