Anthropic accounted for 34.5% of SpaceX’s third-quarter revenue, making it the company’s largest single customer and highlighting SpaceX’s growing reliance on artificial-intelligence computing contracts. Bloomberg News reported the figure on Thursday, citing a person familiar with the matter. Anthropic was identified as Customer B in a SpaceX filing, and its payments surpassed those of the U.S. federal government, previously SpaceX’s largest single customer. Anthropic’s initial public offering disclosures show that it has agreed to spend as much as $120.5 billion under computing contracts with SpaceX through 2029. The commitments amount to about $3.1 billion per month starting in December of this year, although Anthropic can terminate the contracts with 90 days’ notice beginning in early 2027. The agreements cover computing capacity at SpaceX data centres in Memphis, Tennessee. SpaceX’s AI business became profitable for the first time in the latest quarter, supporting Elon Musk’s target of $100 billion in annualised revenue by the end of 2026.
