Disney+ will launch an ad-supported Standard Membership in South Korea for 7,000 won per month, including VAT, with staged sign-ups beginning November 10 and general availability from November 17. The plan includes advertising before and during programs, up to 1080p video, 5.1-channel audio and simultaneous streaming on two devices. Subscribers can add one member from another household for 4,000 won per month. New subscribers joining after November 10 will pay 11,500 won for Standard and 16,500 won for Premium, increases of 16.2% to 18.7%, while existing customers can temporarily retain current rates. The move gives Disney+ a lower-priced option as it tries to address its last-place ranking among major South Korean streaming services. Disney+ had 3,732,798 users in September, down 6.9% from August, despite hits including "Moving," "Big Bet" and "The Light Shop." Upcoming originals include "The Remarried Empress" and "Spellbound." A 2026 survey also found that 59.3% of South Korean respondents considered their digital-platform subscription fees expensive, while streaming services were used by 82.7%.
