Suhyup Bank reported a pre-tax net profit of 288.2 billion Korean won for the first three quarters of this year, up 0.7%, or 2.1 billion won, from 286.1 billion won a year earlier. Total assets reached 69.2 trillion won, increasing by 5.8 trillion won from the end of the previous year. The bank’s subsidiary, Sh수협자산운용, posted a pre-tax net profit of 4 billion won, up 5 billion won year over year. At its fourth management strategy meeting of the year on October 28 in Songpa-gu, Seoul, Suhyup Bank presented AIRO, its first AI-based business platform. AIRO includes a generative AI-based task inquiry system and an advertising message identification AI service that checks whether text messages sent by the bank constitute advertising. The platform was in final testing, with broader AI services planned after security and stability are verified. Governor Shin Hakgi said AI transformation is central to the bank’s competitiveness and that the acquisition of non-banking financial institutions remains a priority for diversification and the bank’s development as a financial group.
