Sanofi raised its full-year sales growth forecast to a low-teens percentage excluding currency effects and expects business earnings per share to increase by a mid-teens percentage. The company increased guidance for the second time this year, following another revision in late July. Third-quarter business EPS rose 22% year on year to €3.55, above the €2.79 estimate, while net sales increased 16.2% to €14.44 billion. At constant exchange rates, sales grew 14.3%. Dupixent revenue rose nearly 35% to €5.7 billion, exceeding consensus of about €5 billion, while sales from newer launches including ALTUVIIIO, Ayvakit and Rezurock increased 31.4% to €1.4 billion. Those gains offset a 6.6% decline in vaccine sales to €3.2 billion. Third-quarter business operating income reached €5.43 billion, above the €4.32 billion analyst consensus. Under new CEO Belen Garijo, Sanofi is reviewing its strategy and plans to use acquisitions to replenish its drug pipeline, with interest in later-stage or commercial medicines and deals larger than its historical $2 billion to $5 billion range. Analysts estimate Sanofi has about €20 billion available for acquisitions and may need to deploy some of it before late-stage trial data expected in 2027. The company is focusing on rare diseases, vaccines and immunology while seeking profitable growth ahead of Dupixent's patent expiration.
