SK hynix held its first Partners Day in Japan, bringing together more than 20 major Japanese semiconductor materials, components and equipment companies. The event, held in Chiba Prefecture, was designed to give suppliers early visibility into SK hynix's medium- to long-term business plans, technology development and expected equipment and materials needs. The company wants partners to prepare capital investment, production expansion and technology development as demand for artificial intelligence memory, including high-bandwidth memory, increases. Participants included Shin-Etsu, SUMCO, JSR, Namics, Tokyo Electron, SCREEN Holdings, Disco and Advantest. SK hynix said closer cooperation with Japanese companies would support a more stable supply chain and strengthen the semiconductor ecosystems of both countries.
