Stora Enso’s Board of Directors approved a Demerger Plan to separate its Swedish forest assets business, Bergslagets Skogar, into a new publicly listed company during the first half of 2027. Third-quarter adjusted EBIT rose 28% year-on-year to EUR 161 million, exceeding analysts’ EUR 156 million estimate, as higher board volumes, improved containerboard pricing, lower variable costs and the Oulu consumer board line ramp-up offset higher energy and logistics costs. Reported sales fell 2% to EUR 2,240 million, below the EUR 2,380 million analyst estimate, mainly because of divestments, while organic sales grew 2%. Stora Enso lowered its 2026 capital-expenditure estimate to approximately EUR 500 million from below EUR 550 million and warned of maintenance, wood-cost and volume pressures in the fourth quarter.
