Dermatology clinics are moving into South Korea's luxury hotels as medical tourism expands, giving foreign visitors access to cosmetic procedures alongside premium accommodation and hotel-based services. Grand Lotte Seoul, formerly Lotte Hotel Seoul, converted guest rooms into treatment rooms and recently brought in DA Dermatology Clinic, following Organacell Dermatology Clinic's arrival the previous month. Inspire Resort in Incheon opened a clinic last year offering stem cell therapy and skin-improvement services, while Oakwood Premier Coex Center installed medical facilities, including a dermatology clinic, across 1,652 square meters. Foreign patient numbers more than tripled from 610,000 in 2023 to 2.01 million in 2025. Foreigners spent 1.84 trillion won ($1.3 billion) on medical services in Korea from January through September this year, up 57.9% from a year earlier, with dermatology accounting for 55.7%. The increase is lifting domestic sales for Korean suppliers of skin boosters, botulinum toxin and fillers because procedures performed in Korea are recorded as domestic revenue rather than exports. Pharma Research, Hugel and L&C Bio have reported strong domestic growth, while companies are promoting product combinations, foreign-patient treatment methods and academic programs. Executives and analysts also see patients continuing Korean products after returning to the United States or Europe, potentially supporting exports.
