Ripple is committing $6 million over three years to Water.org as the nonprofit expands stablecoin-enabled WaterCredit financing into Indonesia, the Philippines and Uganda. Ripple Payments helped Water.org reduce cross-border transaction fees by up to 66% while transferring more than $3.2 million across four Latin American markets, with settlement in Mexico and Brazil falling from two or three days to the same day. The partnership supported access to safe-water or sanitation financing for more than one million people across Latin America. Water.org also received a $1.25 million RLUSD grant from Ripple's Stablecoin Impact Fund for planned disbursements. The initiative demonstrates a payments and stablecoin use case beyond cryptocurrency trading, while Ripple Payments, RLUSD and XRP remain separate components of the ecosystem.
