LyondellBasell Industries reported third-quarter 2026 net income of $758 million, or $2.32 per diluted share, reversing a year-earlier loss of $890 million, or $2.77 per share. Adjusted earnings rose to $2.54 per share from $1.01 but missed the $2.57 analyst consensus. Revenue increased 10% year over year to $8.499 billion from $7.727 billion, below the $8.874 billion estimate, and declined from $9.177 billion in the second quarter. Adjusted net income rose to $828 million from $330 million, while adjusted EBITDA increased 81% to $1.512 billion. Stronger oxyfuels margins and higher Intermediates and Derivatives profitability offset weaker polymer and olefin pricing in parts of the Olefins and Polyolefins business. LyondellBasell generated $1.7 billion in operating cash flow, ended the quarter with $3.2 billion in cash and $7.7 billion in available liquidity, and repaid a €500 million debt maturity. The company agreed to sell its former Houston refinery site and related assets to a Valero Energy subsidiary for $320.5 million, with closing expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. Shares fell 2.62%, while the company said Middle East conditions remain fluid and a return to pre-conflict conditions could take longer than anticipated and follow a non-linear path.
