Colgate-Palmolive reported third-quarter net sales of $5.37 billion, up 4.6% and above the Bloomberg consensus estimate of $5.34 billion. Profit rose to $751 million, or 94 cents a share, from $735 million, or 91 cents a share, a year earlier, with higher volumes and prices helping offset ongoing uncertainty. Diluted earnings per share exceeded the $0.93 consensus estimate for adjusted EPS. The company narrowed its annual net-sales growth guidance to 4% to 5%, from 2% to 6% previously, while projecting adjusted earnings-per-share growth of 5% to 7%, compared with prior guidance for mid-single-digit growth. CEO Noel Wallace said Colgate-Palmolive remained focused on its 2030 strategy, premium science-based innovation and global brand investment, including another double-digit increase in advertising during the quarter. Shares rose more than 3% in premarket U.S. trading.
