The European Medicines Agency has begun a review of Deanxit, a depression and anxiety medicine made by Danish drugmaker H Lundbeck, following reports of serious neurological and psychiatric side effects. The EMA’s Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee (PRAC), which assesses medicine safety risks, said the cases involved movement disorders as well as memory and thinking problems. In some cases, symptoms continued after treatment was stopped. H Lundbeck did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
