Thirty-four casinos in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, received about $1.07 billion in cryptocurrency from Jan. 1 through Sept. 7, 2026, according to TRM data cited by PANews. About $687 million, or 64%, went to casinos linked to networks sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control. More than $320 million flowed to three casinos tied to sanctioned networks even after the sanctions were imposed. USDT on the Tron network accounted for 99.9% of total inflows. Casino inflows declined amid a crackdown by Cambodian authorities, with monthly flows averaging $148 million from January through May before falling to about $95 million in July and August, but cryptocurrency cash-out activity through local casinos and money changers continued.
