Rep. Jeong Tae-ho of the Democratic Party introduced a bill on Oct. 29 requiring domestic virtual-asset exchanges to review every listed digital asset under new standards within one year after the law takes effect. Assets deemed likely to seriously undermine investor protection or market order would receive priority reviews within six months, with trading-support termination procedures required if they fail the criteria. The proposal would require regular post-listing eligibility reviews, codify user protections during delistings, and establish separate trading-support review committees independent of exchange business operations. It also covers review disclosures, issuer submissions, liquidation and transfer periods, and Financial Services Commission authority to set detailed standards.
