HL Mando has appointed President Park Young-moon as chief executive officer and head of HL Group’s automotive sector in its 2026 executive reshuffle. Park, an engineer who joined the company in 1990, spent 10 years in China from 2016 through 2026 in senior research and regional representative roles. Vice Chairman Cho Sung-hyun, who led HL Mando as CEO since November 2021, is stepping down. The reshuffle follows the July death of a subcontracted worker in a crushing accident, after which HL Mando executives issued a public apology. The company commissioned external safety diagnostics, pledged larger safety budgets and stronger safety organizations, and is expected to place greater responsibility for workplace safety within its regional leadership structure. HL Mando created a Korea regional head role and appointed Executive Vice President Lee Jung-seok, previously head of its Mexico unit, transferring Korean operations previously overseen by HL Holdings to HL Mando. Executive Vice President Kim Pyung-yong was named head of China operations and Executive Vice President Kim Sung-il head of India operations, while Kim Jae-hyuk and Ji Soo-hwan retained responsibility for the Americas and Europe. Senior Executive Vice President Bae Hong-yong became chief technology officer and research chief. At group level, Senior Executive Vice President Chung Jae-young was appointed strategy chief and will also serve as chief financial officer. Senior Managing Director Song Ki-taek and Managing Director Yoo Jae-eon were named chief executives of HL Holdings’ business division and HL Ecotech, respectively. HL said the reshuffle is intended to accelerate management innovation, strengthen future competitiveness and secure new growth drivers.
