Pan Ocean Co. Ltd. reported third-quarter net profit of 184.4 billion won (US$137.6 million), up 218.5% from a year earlier. Operating profit rose to 197.4 billion won from 125.2 billion won, marking the company’s largest quarterly operating profit in four years. Revenue increased 65.2% to 2.0973 trillion won, with performance improving across its bulk carrier, tanker and LNG transport businesses. The results exceeded analysts’ expectations, with Yonhap Infomax forecasting average net profit of 130 billion won.
