Josun Hotels & Resorts plans to open two hotels in the first half of 2027, adding properties in Seoul’s Jongno district and Yeosu, Jeonnam-Gwangju Special Metropolitan City. The hotels will be the company’s 10th and 11th properties, supporting its plan to expand its domestic portfolio to 14 by 2030 through the conversion of existing assets to its brands. The company formed a consortium with Shinsegae Property Investment Management to acquire the hotel assets, separating ownership from operations through a real estate investment trust. The Jongno project involves the 232-room, four-star Orakai Daehakro Hotel, while the Yeosu project involves the 427-room Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Yeosu Hotel, the company’s first property in the Honam region. Josun is also investing in existing hotels, including a new spa, Japanese restaurant and business lounge at Josun Palace in Seoul’s Gangnam district. More than 80% of the hotel’s guests are foreign nationals. Renovations have also been completed at The Westin Josun Seoul and The Westin Josun Busan. The company operates South Korea’s oldest hotel.
