SK Square said it will return at least 4.3 trillion won ($3.2 billion) to shareholders, its largest commitment since launching in 2021. The investment holding company estimates dividend income above 6.2 trillion won from SK Hynix, based on the chipmaker’s 2026 cash dividend fund exceeding 30 trillion won and SK Square’s ownership stake. By 2028, SK Square plans to allocate more than 60% of ordinary dividend income to shareholder returns, double the previous return ratio for ordinary dividends, and fully return special dividend income linked to Kioxia investment returns. The company has not finalized implementation details, which will follow procedures after its 2026 financial statements are confirmed. It also converted 5.89 trillion won of capital reserves into retained earnings earlier this year and said it will review new investments under a rational capital allocation principle.
