Madagascar repatriated 148 Chinese nationals to China over alleged involvement in romance scams, cryptocurrency investment fraud and the sale of bogus investment products. The Justice Ministry’s action followed an August- and September-long crackdown that uncovered 13 telecom fraud bases operated by Chinese nationals. Authorities seized about $52 million worth of cryptocurrencies and more than 3,200 electronic devices.
