Hanwha General Insurance has launched a school-employee insurance plan tailored to an occupational group in which women represent about 80% of the workforce. Developed with input from the Korean Federation of Teachers' Associations, the product focuses on teaching-rights violations and related legal costs, including coverage from the initial report to a provincial education office. It pays up to 3.9 million won ($2,700) when a teaching-rights protection committee confirms a violation, and covers attorney fees for criminal proceedings involving child-abuse allegations and teacher appeals. The plan also provides up to 3 million won for diagnoses of certain mental disorders, including depression, panic disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder, plus drug-treatment benefits and coverage for selected occupational illnesses. It is available to teachers, professors and administrative staff at public and private schools as an option with Hanwha General Insurance's Signature Women's Health Insurance or Hanareum Comprehensive Insurance.
